The next issue I had was using their Roku app, back when I was still on a Roku stick. i actually also use Shoko as my primary Plex agent now for my anime libraries and it works pretty well. The only way i was able to work around this was by setting up a Shoko server, which fixed all those issues for the most part, although I still have some issues on a few shows, mainly airing shows that don't get. manually matching shows didn't fix it either. this happened for every single showĪnd this was even after downloading plugins specifically for anime, like anidb, anilist, etc. Semi correct matches, but with broken episode titles where the title of an episode for a completely unrelated show would just be repeated for every single episode in the series. The very first time i had tried to set it up with my video media (which mostly consists of anime) it completely bugged out and once it finished scanning, i was left with a mixture of: Tldr: i've had a lot of instability, finnicky bugs and general UX issues with it that have turned me off from using it as my main media server My experience with Jellyfin as a whole though, the few times I tried to test drive it with my media, has been pretty negative for the most part, but you may have more success with it than I did. i haven't used the music portion of it but it seems like the only music-focused app for that available for iOS is Finamp

Last one that comes to mind would be Jellyfin, which is similar to Plex in that it can handle other types of media too, like your movies and TV shows. i think navidrome works with apps that support Subsonic though

there are a few apps for it on Android but afaik the main one for iOS is Substreamer - haven't used this app specifically before so I can't speak on how good it is, but judging from the screenshots and reviews it seems fine. it doesn't have any external metadata matching like Plex and Jellyfin do though, so you'd have to make sure all your stuff is tagged properly beforehand. There are some other free alternatives though, such as Navidrome which is specifically for music. plex also has some metadata agents to help match your music properly, as well as sonic analysis which can scan your entire library and match tracks based on their sonic qualities - something that none of the options below can do yet i paid for a lifetime pass a while back and i really enjoy plexamp. If you want a really aesthetically pleasing music app with a lot of features then Plex/ Plexamp is gonna be your best bet, although using Plexamp requires a Plex Pass subscription.
